NUR-53 Plant Nursing Drone

Hi! I'm happy to introduce you NÜR-53, a plant nursing drone. Their duty is to take care of endangered plant species. They plant them in their pots, and take care of them until the plant has reached an age/state where it is stronger to weather and environment factors.
Until then, they have little crab-like mech legs, that they use to move around in small areas, or they also can fly/float to move to a more favorable part of the planet. They don’t have weapons, but will do everything to defend their plants and scare away hungry herbivorous and harmful insects.

Once the plant is strong enough, they carve a hole in the most suitable place with their legs and plant it there. After that they rinse it with water + nutrients to make the change easier for the plant. They go back to base, and start the cycle again.

This is a 5-day designing and modeling art test! I had to design, model and texture an original and functional drone that would fit in a sci-fi video game. Although I'm not very used to do hard surface, I had a lot of fun designing and modeling it :D

I first designed it, then model a first sketch in ZBrush, cleaned and modeled the low and high poly in Maya and textured it in Substance Painter. Finally I brought it to UE5 and prepared an environment to do the renders. I'll probably upload it again animated.
